Canny's Ascension guide

Introduction

Very often in my aisling life, I have had young masters come up to me, asking for help with ascension. So I decided to sit down and
write a guide to help those young ones. It will give advice on how to become the best you can possibly be without gaining further insights;
it will also give some practical help on ascension in general.

Ascension Basics

Ok, there you are - a master. Congrats!!! But how do you grow now? First of all, you need to be Aisling of Talgonite ((= have crafted
your 97 armor)). Otherwise, the gods will ignore your request.

Basically, you can benefit from the experience gained by hunting, as the gods will reward you with either greater health ((HP)) or mana ((MP)). The godly gift of health is the key to make you the strongest, swiftest, wisest, smartest and best-conditioned aisling you can
be in the end.

Regardless of their path, all aislings sacrifice the same amount of health to improve their attributes ((1 stat = 150 HP)). Still, your
choosen path influences your health. For example, a monk usually is healthier than a priest. So the monk will need to work harder then
the priest to gain the same benefits.

Confusing? Don't worry; this will give you a rough idea of how much work you’ll have to accomplish:

*As I said, this is only to give you an idea. Of course, in most cases your base HP will not be the lowest possible, which I took as a
basis for this list. To figure out your personal amount of exp needed, please use an ascension calculator. I personally like the calculator
on da-wizard.com best, but there are pretty good ones on dahelp.com and the-warrior.net too.))

Preparation

Once you have learned enough from all your battles, it's time for you to get hold of a Succubus’s Hair succi hair.  You can either venture
deep into Mileth Crypt and shave some Succi’s yourself, or, if you’ve got money to spend, buy hairs from other aislings. Depending on
your path, I’d suggest that you take a friend with you if you decide to hunt your own hairs - it's safer, and it's more fun for sure!

x                                     x

Now it's time to head to Mileth altar and drop your succi hair into it. King Bruce no longer protects you once you do so. All that's left
to do is to find a kind aisling to kill you!

I suggest you take off all the items that give benefits to your health or you attributes. It will make things MUCH easier and prevent
damage to your precious items.

Ascending for health

Yes, that fluttering little spirit looking so innocent is you!  Whatever innocent little you intends to do now... DON'T talk to Sgrios!!!
In case you're tempted to try, let me tell you it will give you nothing but a nasty scar ;p. So instead of being silly, flutter down to the
left till you see a pile of rocks:

R1     x      Ruins5

At the rocks you will find an indent, float into it.  This will take you through the pile to the opposite side where there is another indent.  Float into the narrowest part.  There you'll find yourself in an icy area with two temples. The left one is the temple of Deoch; he will
imbue you with greater health for the work you have accomplished.

The right temple is the Temple of Gramail; he will reward you for your work by strenthening your energy. ((Check “Ascending for Mana”-section.))

Temples

For now, it's the left temple you have to enter. Talk to Deoch, tell him you stand in awe of his power and devote your life’s experience
to him.

This will raise your health ((by 50)). Prostate again and devote your life's experience until you have gained the reward you came here
for.  When you're done, you can either descend, or stay there, worshiping in silence, which would be your choice if you wish to visit
Gramail’s temple too.

Once you choose to descend, you'll find yourself in Mileth town entrance.  It’s time to talk to Aoife in the Temple of Choosing (also called
the
Temple of the Veil).  Ask her about ((Master Stats)), and she’ll explain how she will transfer your additional health into an attribute
of your choice.

One more word on that: I personally always kept the additional health I got with my last ascension until I gained enough experience for
my next ascending session. It's not recommended to do that, but hey… a little more health feels good, doesn't it? *grins* Just don't
forget to visit Aoife before you drop a succubus hair into the altar next time!

Ascending for mana

Ascending for mana works same way as for health.  Just that you enter the temple to the right to talk to Gramail.  Again, tell him
you stand in awe of his power and devote your life’s experience to him to strengthen your energy ((by 25)). Of course, you can visit
both temples during the same ascending session, all you have to do is to 'worship in silence' and flutter over to the other temple.

((The cost of MP depends on your base MP.  Again an ascension calculator will help you figure out how much experience you need.))

Aoife will NOT transfer mana into attributes!

The best you can be

Isn't this what we all want? Being the best you can be will enable you to concentrate on getting healthier and gaining more mana. Oh,
of course you can keep the gods rewards before getting there, but you’ll have to work quite a bit more that way. Honestly, keep your
health as low as possible until your attributes look like this:

I admit it takes patience....but i assure you it's worth it!

 Adoration of Danaan

Ooooh, Adoration of Danaan! How much we all love it!

WHAT? You’ve never heard about the Adoration?

It's the final part of a 3-part quest.  I will not give a description of the whole thing here, but what is important about Adoration
(and the reason we all love it soooo much) is that Danaan will reward you by improving all your attributes ((+2 to each stat)).

But if you aren’t the smartest, strongest, wisest, swiftest and healthful aisling you can be while rendering homage to Danaan, you
could get yourself in trouble. Danaan’s kind gift might raise one of your minor attributes ((stat maxed at 100)) to its best or any of
your attributes even above that. With this, Aoife would refuse to help you transfering health into attributes the next time you go
visit her. To prevent this, you can talk to Aoife about ((Reallocating Stats)) before joining the Adoration.

((Reallocating Stats will take 5 points (none more or less) from one of the stats you can raise above 100 and transfer those 5 points
to another stat of your choice. Be careful not to max or even over-max that other stat while reallocating! Once your stats are
over-maxed, you can’t reallocate from that stat anymore. I suggest to keep your “level 100”-stats at 98 or even 95 (so you can
reallocate to them without over-maxing them) till you’re all maxed. Also, be careful not to over-max any of your stats with Adoration
unless all your stats are completely maxed!))

Last words

This is the end of my little guide… I hope it will help with lots of questions about ascension.

If it only helps one single aisling, I’ll be content and my mission will be fulfilled!  If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to
send me a pigeon. I’ll come back to you as soon as I can to solve your problem *smiles*
